Abstract:
Many people consider it to be among the most significant pieces of Irish literature. The drama was staged on the island of Ireland in April 1902 by the Irish National Theatre Society. William Butler Yeats, who had previously been mistakenly identified as the play's only author, co-wrote it with Lady Gregory. More than anything else, there had a strong link with Lady Gregory and W.B. Yeats, two excellent figures in Irish literature. Their combination enriched this play in an incredible level of excellence. The first presentation of this play was critically and popularly acclaimed and marked as a strong history in Irish Theatre.
